30A on the west side - Marie's music

Everyone has their opinion about the best places to go on 30A for dining or entertainment. There are so many choices and really, they are all good. It's just a matter of what you are looking for.

We work in Seagrove and live on the west end of the A, and we like to get out of the high traffic areas during high season so we tend to frequent establishments on the west side. I like to say the West Side is the Best Side. We are fickle people. We have been semi regulars at Red Bar, Hurricanes, Boragos, Local Catch, McTighes and lately, Marie's. We are due to check-out Nicks because we like their hospitality and I'm anxious to try out the Thai dishes at Pickles Pizza bar (go figure) but lately, on Thursdays it has been Marie's for us. We have been been enjoying their happy hour and enjoy the live music they provide. We got to hear Kelsey Ann play for few weeks and last Thursday we listened to Hope Cassidy. Love these southern girls, they can sing a song.

The bartender at Marie's is terrific, very friendly. I'm not a sushi authority but we like the Boston and Philadelphia sushi rolls and their sliders are good. This place is not the least bit fancy so don't look for style at Marie's, the decor is in a word haphazard. Local artwork hung on the walls without too much thought, the interior is not even close to trendy, the t-shirts are not something you will just have to have. But it is a good neighborhood spot and just fine with us, especially on Thursdays.
