Christmas on the Beach

This year the December beach sand has been warm enough to enjoy barefoot and when by chance a wave has washed over my toes, that has felt pretty good too. Holiday parties are spilling out onto decks and folks are comfortable and happy to chat around fire pits. You can wear a favorite sweater at night and during the day you will be comfortable back in your sandals...you gotta love that.

No one but the surfers are actually in the water right now but no, no, I take that back…lots of our furry friends have been enjoying the mild weather. Clarence sure likes it. Heck, he makes it look very tempting. If this warm weather holds, I'll participate in the New Years Day Polar Bear Plunge at Watercolor! Okay, no...that won't happen. I'm happy to observe at that event but this has been some kind of December and a far cry from last year in terms of temperature.
I've seen a lot of walkers and runners out on the beach in the last few days. Kayak  enthusiasts and stand up paddlers have been enjoying quality time on the water this month too.

As always, the whitest part of our South Walton Christmas will again be the sand which is just fine with me.

Wishing you joy and a very, very, merry, merry Christmas!
