More Spider News

This mornings walk in the state forest brought with it more spider encounters. My partner Beej walks the dog ahead of me. Beej carries a walking stick to move the webs out of the path. It's sad but they seem to adjust. Anyhow, we moved one yesterday, the spider actually ended up on Beej and I had to knock her off. She has moved the web higher this morning. The fall flowers are starting to come up in preparation for the butterfly migration. Our garden has had visitors already and there is a hummingbird out there everyday. I'll look up our spider's name and write it in the next post. Took a picture of her yesterday. She is a beauty. "Gustav" is heading somewhat towards us. We will tidy up the yard tomorrow. I love Blue Mountain Beach where we live because are one mile from the beach and on the highest point on the coast so we don't worry too much about storm water. The winds are certainly a concern but we know the drill! We don't like it but at least we have a warning to prepare. Walked the beach last night before we watched the historic nomination of Barack Obama. The water was churned up a bit but not too much real action yet. Sounds like the political climate today! Very exciting times.
