The reason
Memorial Day is humbling.
My dad served in WWII. He was fortunate to have lived through his service in the US Army fighting with the infantry in France and Germany. As a child, growing up reading his letters home, seeing photos, handling mementos and medals from the war made me keenly aware of military sacrifice. I will always be indebted to those who serve. And on this day especially, no matter where I am and what I am doing, my heart holds close, the memory of those who gave their lives for their countrymen.
