Morrisons Springs
We live on the south side of Walton County so naturally the south side is usually the area I comment on but we spend a good deal of time on the north side as well. Walton County is one of the highest places in the state. There are rolling hills with views of "pleasant valleys" and country roads where you can easily forget you are in Florida.
Today we had the pleasure of spending the day kind of in the middle of the county. Organized by 30A radio and www.waltonoutdoors.com we attended a picnic at Morrison Springs . What a lovely day. The morning sky started out cloudy but by the time we arrived at the park, the sky had cleared to a beautiful blue nicely accessorized with white fluffy clouds. Morrison Springs is located about 30 miles from Blue Mountain Beach, easy to reach and just delightful. Crystal clear water; cold and refreshing; a nice picnic area; and a clean and tidy wc. We saw divers exploring the spring head, watched a family paddle the yolo boards and after enjoying a tasty picnic lunch we even got a chance to kayak.
It was a special day and we are grateful to our neighbors for introducing us to a new favorite place.
