Our Personal Trainer
Our good neighbors the Peterson's are in town! So happy to see them. Yesterday we went fishing on Draper Lake, an important "favorite place" I will mention again and again. Bruce and Dave each caught a fish called an Atlantic Croaker so named for its, well, croak! They are beautiful to look at and I feel a little guilty to take them home but they were caught fair and square and they made a very good dinner! It was an amazing afternoon, cool and dry. As I walked along the beach to join the fisherman I saw a big school of mullet playing in the surf. They looked like they were skimming along the top of the waves. Then when I got to the lake another school of them kept me entertained as they busily fed at the lake waters edge. Mullets are very active. To make it all picture perfect, the almost full moon sat in a northeastern backdrop of a perfect blue sky as a golden light washed over the white sand dunes. To the south and west, sugar white sands framed an elegant sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. A Great Blue Heron was there with us too so it was truly a "forget everything else" afternoon. Dave is an avid angler and we are grateful for his guidance in all things fishing.
