Election Day
To me, the last two years have been a little on the crazy side. Especially the elections. It has been a very serious but crazy game we could watch everyday. A crazy playoff series was followed by a seemingly never-ending Superbowl that has exposed our nations two overbearing and opposing syndicates with a blinding international light. We wear team costumes, put our flags out in our yards and wave banners when we gather in crowds cheering for our side to win. Sometimes we yell out things in a crowd that we would not say in any other circumstance because it would be considered impolite or even uncivil. But this particular game has brought a lot of people out of the political closet. As each group passionately follows their own team, watching every detail of every play, reviewing the instant re-plays over and over again, discussing the decisions of the coaches and dissecting bad calls, we have gotten so far apart. Of course the stakes are high. The President of the United States has everything to do with the way we behave as a country and our country has everything to do with what happens to the rest of the world. I sincerely hope that after all this, our President Elect leads with calm, thoughtful purpose and that tomorrow we as a nation put our best effort into reuniting the United States of America. We will all need to learn to live with things that have been said and thought. We will have to settle our small differences to focus on and solve the big issues in front of us.
