Home Sales rise by 2.7%

As reported by The Associated Press, for the month of September: "Sales of new homes recorded an unexpected increase in September as median home prices dropped to the lowest level in four years." We'll take it. Even if prices have declined, a 2.7% increase in sales is better than the decline in sales economists had expected. A local look of our Santa Rosa Beach/West Walton/South Freeport area reveals my 7-day sale report of detached single family homes, as of 10/27/08: 11 sales sold. On the low side, a walk to the beach, 750 sf mobile home for $112,000 and on the high side, a Seacrest Beach 2480 cottage style home for $599,000.
