Bayou beauty - the bay side is beautiful

We go on and on about the beach because of course it is something to go on about. We can walk the shoreline (except where the occasional crazy beachfront owner tries to scare you off "his property"), or just have a seats enjoy the view. It is sure to please. You have to work a little harder to see the bay side. There isn't a beach to walk or sit on so you have to find special spots to enjoy the quiet beauty. Eden Gardens State Park is a spectacular place to see the beautiful oaks and flowers, the water and the critters that inhabit the north side of South Walton. The camellia festival is next week so that is something wonderful to attend. I was visiting the Cultural Art Alliance of South Walton office about a week ago and boy there was a regular convention of birds at Cessna Landing. Pelicans and loons having a nice get together en masse. There are creeks here and there too if you look for them. We went to a Super Bowl get together at my friend Jerri and Tom's house and were treated to a beautiful view from their back porch of a white pelican floating serenely down Turtle Creek...pretty as anything I've seen in awhile. A great place to go for lunch or dinner is The Bay on 331. There is a little beach with a big view. Even the view of the bridge being built is kind of wonderful. The big drama is at the beach but the bay has enchanting spots too. Reminds me a little bit of South Florida...just a touch of Coconut Grove.
