Two important SoWal events

South Walton County residents are becoming more and more interested in incorporation. The south side of the county has the most visitors, the largest tax base and the least amount of voting residents due to the preponderance of second homes. The residents that do live here are always raising their hands trying to get attention from the county commissioners. Becoming frustrated with the effort, there is a lot of talk about incorporating. What that might mean and how to go about it will be explored at a SWCC meeting February 26th at the Rep theater in Seaside. Two meetings are scheduled...one at 4pm and one at 7pm.

Another very important meeting regarding the proposed Hampton Inn development in Seagrove Beach will be held on March 5th. This Board of County Commissioners meeting has generated so much interest it will be held at 4pm at Seascape to accommodate the anticipated attendance and it is the only item on the agenda.

The residents of the south side of the county are decidedly interested in their community. It's nice to see the action and to be a part of it is of critical importance. No matter how you look at it, as our community evolves, every action we take determines our quality of life right now.
